 PREAMBLE |
|
| We the officers of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited having unanimously resolved to form an Association with aims and objects mentioned below, do hereby adopt and give to ourselves the following constitution. |
| |
| NAME OF THE ASSOCIATION |
|
| "TECHNICAL OFFICERS" abbreviated as 'ASTO'. |
| |
| EMBLEM |
|
The emblem duly ratified by the General Body in its meeting held on 27th September 1969 , is shown on the top left corner. It is crude oil colour background in the shape of an oil drop with the letters ASTO inscribed. The moto at the bottom reads and means "stop not till the goal is achieved" .
In all functions and correspondence related to the Association, this will be used. |

| AIMS & OBJECTS |
|
| The association shall function to :- |
- Safeguard and promote the individual and collective interest of the officers of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited.
- Promote the scientific, technical, managerial, social and welfare activities of officers; and
- Suggest ways and means to increase and miximise production and productivity of the ONGC in the best interest of the organization and country and to adopt measures to get the suggestions implemented.

| MEMBERSHIP |
|
| The Membership of the Association will be open to all the officers of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited except those appointed on contract or on advisory capacity. |
| |
| ORGANISATION |
|
| 1. Local Unit |
| The officers posted at one station, irrespective of their work-centre, shall elect a local unit. The strength of the local units shall be as under: |

Any office situated at different stations but belonging to a particular project shall be treated as one unit.
Regional offices and other offices, not belonging to a particular project shall be treated as independent unit.
In so far the unit at the Headquarters of the ONGC (Presently at Dehradun) is concerned, 5 members will be elected who shall be members of the Central Executive Committee.
In addition to above, the President, CWC so elected by CEC shall constitute a local body for Dehradun exclusively either from CEC members or non-CEC members as President, Secretary and Joint Secretary-cum-Treasurer. |

25/5/2006 - A Silent rally being orgainised by ASTO Ahmedabad to show its protests towards management on various issues where more than 1200 ASTO members participated and raised their issues by a peaceful march on this heat of Ahmedabad.
31/5/2006 - With the intervention of Hon’ble Delhi High Court, the ASTO strike from 31-05-2006 has been postponed. The court has asked the management to resolve all the 33 demands of ASTO by 17th July'2006.
14/8/2006 - ONGC Management has approved the special Golden Jubilee incentive of Rs.50,000/= to all regular ONGC employees in addition to the commemorative Gold medallion.We dedicate this Golden Jubilee reward to the resilience and “never-say-die spirit” of our colleagues at Hazira who have braved one of the worst natural calamities in service of our great Nation.
16/7/2007 - E2-E5 Anomolies Payment Has been Made.
